Clay Thumb Owl

Clay OwlHere’s a non-firing option for finishing a clay project that I was happy to try out last year. My students loved making these Thumb Owls, but firing them twice would have added hours to my day, so hence this painted solution. It’s just glossy acrylic paint with black crayon rubbing to give it some visual texture. Everyone enjoyed the additional color options that I could offer with acrylic paint, and got creative with varying shades of brown and black and gray.
